TU Berlin is once again participating in this year's "Girls' Day" on April 25, 2024. dEIn Labor and BIFOLD offer a workshop for schoolgirls from the age of 15.
2nd BIFOLD Paper accepted at VLDB 2024
The paper "POLAR: Adaptive and Non-invasive Join Order Selection via Plans of Least Resistance” introduces a new query processing technique that adaptively switches join orders to improve the performance robustness of join queries in database systems.

"Trustworthy AI... for Systems Security", the 3rd BIFOLD Colloquium discusses the question if machine learning is truly capable of ensuring systems security. In his talk, Lorenzo Cavallaro, Professor of Computer Science at University College London (UCL), will highlight the importance of reasoning beyond mere in-distribution performance by examining the consequences of distribution shifts in realistic settings.
